What was accomplished

●       The new Cube Orange+ flight controller was physically installed onto last year's competition drone for bench and flight-testing purposes.

●       The Here3 RTK GNSS module was wired and configured, providing high-precision positioning and compass data to the flight controller.

●       Full sensor calibration was completed in Mission Planner, including accelerometer, compass, and radio calibration, confirming clean sensor data across all channels.

Challenges and solutions

The main challenge was compass interference caused by the proximity of high-current power wiring near the GNSS module. This was resolved by rerouting the power leads further from the compass module and re-running the calibration, which eliminated the erratic heading readings observed initially.

Next steps plan

Set up and range-test the telemetry radio link and RC control system on last year's drone.
